Christmas Meeting and Meal 2019 at Las Claras Community Centre

Tuesday December 10th., bought members and guests together for this years A.G.M. of the Los Alcazares Camera Club, at Las Claras Community Centre. End of year reports were received from the offices of Treasurer, Secretary and Club President John Dorset. John reported that the standard of photographs submitted for the monthly competitions, following field visits, were excellent. John commented that the quality of lens now being included in mobile telephones, were top rate and enabled folk who were not willing initially to buy expensive cameras, to join our club, and enter photographs for our competitions, and as has happened on many occasions, been proud winners. Plans for 2020 include visits to churches, local villages and windmills. Subjects next year include almond blossom, animals, seascapes, flowers and cloud formations. Legendary camera club lunches follow field visits. Not to be missed.

Christmas 2019 photograph winner was Pip Shail, with a photograph taken from her balcony titled "While Shephard´s Watch".
Richard Townsend, not able to join members today, won the prestigious silver cup award for submitting the most winning photographs in the club competitions during 2019. Margaret Odell is seen receiving the cup from John Dorset, on Richard's behalf.
Following the A.G.M., members and guests enjoyed a splendid lunch in the dinning room at the Claras Community Centre, in Los Alcazares. For more information about the L.A.C.C., please check out the club website on www.los-alcazares-camera.club

Burns´ Night Report

Thirteen proved to be a lucky number for the club when thirteen members and friends arrived at Scottish club treasurer, Margaret´s house to again celebrate Scotland´s treasured poet Robert Burns known as Rabbie Burns. This on 25th January 2020 which was the 261st anniversary of his birth. After the usual toasts there was the traditional  piping in of the haggis followed by the address and stabbing the haggis. The evening continued following the traditional course of events and a song confirming  Love is like a Red Red Rose. We all now look forward to the 262nd celebration of Rabbie Burns birthday.
